Well this one was intended to mirror “Wise Men from the East” in its composition but I don’t think it really works since the angel and the shepherds are so much larger than the magi and the star. I’ve gotten some positive reaction to it but I still want to revisit this scene and give the angel a more central position some day. Thanks very much.
I always try to depict angels as impressive and somewhat frightening while still holy in appearance. After all, there HAD to be a reason that they nearly always said "Do not be afraid" when they met people at first.
